All the members of the ensemble are excellent musicians in their fields, they perform as soloist and chamber interpreters in Czech Republic and abroad, record, they have won a number of awards, cooperate with leading music personalities, orchestras and ensembles. Janáček Trio was formed by pianist Markéta Janáčková in 2001 and the name Janáček Trio has been used by trio with the permission of Leoš Janáček Foundation since November 2005. Members of Janáček Trio are Jiří Pospíchal - violin, Marek Novák - violoncello and Markéta Janáčková - piano.

The most important concerts of Janáček Trio in last season were: concert in Opera National de Paris - Studio Bastille (cycle Concerts autour de Janáček), concert at the Foundation Juan March in Madrid, performance at the Prague premieres festival organized by the Czech Philharmonic, concert in the Suk Hall at the Rudolfinum Prague organized by the Czech Chamber Music Society where Janáček Trio performed Trio by Alfred Schnittke in czech premiere.

In 2008 Janáček Trio has been invited for concerts in Czech Republic: Janáčkův Máj International festival in Ostrava (May), Prague premieres festival in the Suk Hall of Rudolfinum (April), Bertramka (June) etc. and abroad: prestige world´s music market MIDEM in Cannes, France (January) - concert was recorded by Radio France, concerts in Canada (May) and Germany (September). Janáčkovo trio is organizing its concert cycle in Prague under support of Allianz pojišťovna, Leoš Janáček Foundation and Founadation Nadace umělce.

The Trio´s repertoire includes compositions from all periods and styles, from Baroque music to 20th-century music. The works of Czech composers constitute a significant portion of the trio´s repertoire. Janáček trio also concentrates on performing of premiers of compositions by Czech contemporary composers (Z. Lukáš, J. Gemrot, Z. Král). They performed with great success the world premiere of Trio Boemo by Zdeněk Lukáš in Opera National de Paris, Studio Bastille in February 2007. The other compositions for ensemble have been composed in 2007/2008 season (Jiří Gemrot, Ivo Bláha, Milan Slavický). Janáček Trio records for the Czech Radio in Prague.

Janáček Trio has recorded its debut CD with works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonín Dvořák and Josef Suk in 2006. CD was realized under kind support of Allianz pojišťovna, a.s. In 2008 Janáček Trio was choosen for recording by french label Praga Digitals (distribution Harmonia Mundi) to record a CD with chamber works by Alfred Schnittke. CD has been highly regarded in the press - Diapason, Opus Haute Definition, Ensemble, Strad and Fono Forum.
